i've read four graphic novels by jeffrey brown since saturday, and i think if you like scott pilgrim, you will also enjoy his work. he doesn't exactly mix the heart and adventure the way brian lee o'malley does, but his parodies are hilarious and his emo stories are distinctly within that same realm, although likely JB came first. the art has a similar aesthetic, too. very indie, but not too much to be fun.

anybody read that? i know i'm getting to it late, but i like it a lot.

the ones i got were incredible change-bots, minisulk, an easy intimacy, and bighead.

I forgot I had an account here!

Ramona's probably in her mid-twenties; I think 7's a reasonable number of relationships to have at that point (although technically only a few of her exes are really RELATIONSHIPS).

I guess I'd agree that there are more than 7 exes, but only 7 evil ones.

Haha. How do you have time to draw a comic when you are always playing scrabble? Just saying. :P

I think all of her exes are evil and were gathered together by gideon to make the evil exes league or whatever.

I think this would work:

ARE PILGRIMS GIRL FRIEND EXES ALL EVIL OR ARE THERE MORE

But there is a chat window in the game, too. :)

I would guess she's had others, but only those 7 are evil. I suppose I could ask Bryan O'Malley sometime. We play Scrabble at Facebook sometimes.

What are the odds of you getting the tiles to spell out "are all of ramonas ex-boyfriends evil or does she have more ex-boyfriends but only seven are evil"? And would Ramonas count since it is a proper noun?

I think that's a you-pick-'em.

I reread all four books over the weekend and I had a burning question... are all of Ramona's exes evil and she has 7 of them or does she have more than 7 exes and only 7 of them are evil?

Damnit Joe, you put reading SP in a comic. Discuss!!!!! Very few people I know read it. Discussssssssss! Haha.

The guy who directed Shaun of the Dead was attached to maybe direct it. That would be awesome.

On a seperate note the new volume was good, the art is so good. I wish I had this ability to draw fashion the way he does, my clothes never look that good. And he does it so simple. And how cute was grown up Lisa Miller? Hhaa.

spoiler wrote:did anyone else think that Ramona is sort of becoming a bitch? I mean she apparently made out with that fat lesbian and what the fuck was with inside her head? That was super creepy. I'm pretty sure gideon is the guy from the end of volume 3 and who was the guy scott fought in the flashback with kin in volume 2. Oh and Stephen Stills is totally got a thing for Knives...that thing is his weiner. Opinions?

This didn't occur to me until I read the Bryan Lee O'Malley interview over at the Onion AV club, but... a live action Scott Pilgrim would totally be like Spaced.

I went to the store during lunch and they didn't have it... I think I'm going to have to hit one of the other stores after work.

The new book came out today. It's all I can do not to break into it right here at work. Looks so good!

Awesome. The new art looks great too.

i can't wait, even though it probably won't show up in VA shops for several weeks.
