So I saw Ghost Rider and loved it. It was an awful movie, but so cheesey and fun to watch. The acting was terrible, the story nonexistent, and the love story wooden and unbelievable. I mean, he's riding his bike on water flipping off the police? LAME. But lame can be fun to watch, and I did enjoy myself.
The following statement is true...

...The previous statement was false.

Lame can definetly be fun and I hope when I snatch it up on dVD I can enjoy it in the same way. I'm really glad you had a good time with it. It gives me hope.

I saw it. Didn't like it at ALL. How many fucking times does he point at people?

I counted 3 times which isn't too many, but they were all far too dramatic.

I downloaded it and I counted way more then 3 times in just 60 minutes.

Just off the top of my head.

1) Points at the Devil as a teenager after crashing his bike.
2) Points at the Devil again when he comes to call in the debt.
3) Points at the Mugger.
4) Points at the Black Kid in Prison
5) Points at the Air demon thing.
6) Points at the Cop who shoots him before waving his finger at him.

That's just off the top of my head.. Brutal.

I never followed GR properly, but I thought that was a character trait? He points. He acts. It's kind of his thing. Like Goldmember turning people yu-hus goooold.

Linc's got a point. he's kind of a pointer. But agree it was more distracting than anythign else. The one where the Devil comes to collect his debt is fucking rediculous. It jsut takes you right out of the momment.

It makes sense that GR would be a pointer. He condemns the guilty with his Penance Stare. You don't want any confusion about who you're judging when you sear a human soul with all the pain and suffering they've caused others in their life.

I had forgotten that the teenage version does it first... do you think they filmed young Johnny Blaze first and Nic Cage was all "Hey, that pointing thing is a good idea, I think I'll do that too!"?

Why did this just crack my shit up over here? Seriously, Tom, I had tears coming out of my eyes.

Actually, it was probably a weird trait that they couldn't get Cage to stop throwing into his performance, so that had to go back and do some pick-ups with the kid and ask the EFX company to go ahead and make the CGI Rider point a whole bunch too.

This gives me an idea for a comic.

Problem is I don't do a comic, so that's all it'll remain.

EDIT: I just thought about it. Paul Gleason could make a great Ghost Rider. Hes not much on a bike and isn't that hardcore... but he has "that other trait" of Ghost Rider's down pat:

I could maybe be down with the "intense confrontation between Caretaker and Blackheart" but none of what's listed is enough to get me to buy the DVD.

I can see me possibly watching this thing on HBO or when it eventually gets shown for three days in a row on TNT, but I don't have an urge of any kind to watch this movie again.
