I think I may be the only person that liked Spanglish.

You need to atleast give Sandler credit for Big Daddy if you're going to give him Click.
It just goes to show, never stick your dick in a pudding. It might still be good pudding and you can spend all afternoon explaining that but no one’s going to eat it BECAUSE YOU STUCK YOUR DICK IN IT. ~ Yahtzee

Ugh Big Daddy was awful. Click wasn't good so much because of Sandler, but everything else. Big Daddy didn't have anything going for it but John Stewart. who wasn't that good in it. Or acting in general.

Did Sandler rape you when you were younger?

By the way, have you seen this Opie? http://youtube.com/watch?v=i3Gj57b-87Q

Morgan Freeman as The Narrator. I was laughing my silly head off when that episode of The Family Guy came on.

Don't get me wrong, Morgan Freeman's narration is great. The writing is wonderful and he does an outstanding job. From a story-telling perspective though, it detracts from some aspects of the story. You don't have to show things because you can just have the Narrator tell you what happened. Maybe it's just a personal pet peeve. I must like the movie, after all, it is my number 3.

I just saw the trailer for "Reign over Me" with Sandler, and it looks pretty good. Might get to add a new movie to my short list of good sandler movies.

Nope, I thought it was pretty damn good.

I thought Spanglish was great, but don't consider it a "Sandler" pic, since it was equally carried by the Mexican chick and Tea Leoni: they ensembled together and nailed the film.

To change the topic (or resteer it home) I thought of one that I don't think has been mentioned:

Top Ten Fictional Movie Bands
I'm thinking Stillwater from Almost Famous
Crucial Tide from Waynes World
Josie & The Pussycats from, uh, yeah.
The One-ders/Wonders from That Thing You Do
Dingos Ate My Baby (technically from TV's) Buffy
The Raincoats from Ten Things I Hate About You

That's just off the top of my head. Who else can think of good fictional bands from movies?

In no particular order:

The Commitments from The Commitments - Although they later became a real band.
Spinal Tap from This Is Spinal Tap - I mean, duh.
Lustra (Matt Damon's band) from Eurotrip - Everyone I know who saw this movie remembers that song.
Sexual Chocolate from Coming To America - (come on, Linc, how'd you drop that ball?)
The Soggy Bottom Boys from O! Brother etc. - They didn't directly, but the movie led to the revitalization of an entire genre of music.
Marvin Berry (& the Starlighters?) from Back to the Future - Changed the history of modern music, thanks to a sticky trunk latch.

I think we're forgetting a paradigm one here.

The Blues Brothers.

Even though they started as a sketch on SNL and then became a band and then made a movie about the band, the movie details a completely fictional situation and more importantly, fabricates a background for the band too.

In all fairness, I forgot them too, not to mention the ones SotC mentioned: The Commitments, Spinal Tap (well, you mentioned them) and my now past avatar Sexual Chocolate.

Wait! I just remembered a few others (some of these are tragic, and 2 have both Donald Faison and Breckin Meyer, meanwhile Ethan Embry is in 2 films, but in neither band, meaning he's in 3 of the films mentioned so far).
Du Juor (Josie & Co)
Loveburger (Can't Hardly Wait)
Coyote Shivers (Empire Records)
The Folksmen (A Mighty Wind)
Steel Dragon (Rockstar - I can't believe I forgot that one)
Oh yeah! The Shitty Beatles from Waynes World! You never hear them play, but you know they suck (Meatloaf said so) and they have atrocious outfits.
Steve Martin's band in "Leap of Faith"
The Three Amigos... arguably a band due to being a singing entertainment group (Dear little buttercup?)
The Muppets from The Muppet Movie(s)

Gee, this list is getting long, now that I'm actually thinking. I sure hope there's nothing else obvious that I'm missing.

I actually considered them, but left them off as it was essentially Booker T & the MG's, with Dan Akroyd & John Belushi.

So a recap?
The Blues Brothers from The Blues Brothers
The Commitments from The Commitments
Coyote Shivers from Empire Records
Crucial Taunt from Waynes World
Dingos Ate My Baby from Buffy
Du Juor from Josie & The Pussycats
The Folksmen from A Mighty Wind
Josie & The Pussycats from Josie & The Pussycats
Loveburger from Can't Hardly Wait
Lustra (Matt Damon's band) from Eurotrip
Marvin Berry & the Starlighters from Back to the Future
The Muppets from The Muppet Movie
The One-ders/Wonders from That Thing You Do
The Raincoats from Ten Things I Hate About You
Sexual Chocolate from Coming To America
The Shitty Beatles from Waynes World
The Soggy Bottom Boys from O! Brother Where art thou?
Spinal Tap from This is Spinal Tap
Steel Dragon from Rockstar
Steve Martin's band in "Leap of Faith"
Stillwater from Almost Famous
The Three Amigos from The Three Amigos

My top ten, of these (and sinec I can't think of any others, these'll have to do) are:
1) Steel Dragon from Rockstar
2) The Blues Brothers from The Blues Brothers
3) Stillwater from Almost Famous
4) Crucial Taunt from Waynes World
5) Spinal Tap from This is Spinal Tap
6) The Commitments from The Commitments
7) Josie & The Pussycats from Josie & The Pussycats
8 ) The One-ders/Wonders from That Thing You Do
9) Loveburger from Can't Hardly Wait
10) Lustra (Matt Damon's band) from Eurotrip

Possibly not my "definitive" top ten, but close enough. Steel Dragon definitely top the list with The Blues Brothers and Stillwater trailing not too far behind.
