Yeah... no. No one does that.

On a side note, I googled "anastasia awareness" to see if it actually referred to anything. The first link that popped up was Joe Loves Crappy Movies' review of Awake.

I had to try this out for myself. That's great.

On another side note, what would "Anastasia awareness" refer to otherwise? Having awareness of the Don Bluth film? I mean, sure, I know about it. Is it anything special? It's enough to make the mind wobble.

It's not necessarily awareness of the film itself. It refers to a condition in which, while watching the film Anastasia, one is unable to sink into the escapist fairy tale that Bluth and company presented. One is constantly aware of the fact that the story is not at all historically accurate... and one is unable to effectively communicate that fact to anyone else in the room.

Ohhh, I've actually had that before. It's basically an enhanced case of Suspension of Disbelief that's specific to Anastasia. And it can lead to insanity in the right scenario. Like explaining to everyone else that watching Anastasia for Bartok is like watching The Phantom Menace for Jar-Jar, then promptly getting shushed because Bartok suddenly makes an appearance.

Ah yes, you describe the well-documented "Anakin Awareness" syndrome.
