No reviews - blame The Princess Bride

Postby joerules » Thu Apr 17, 2008 9:39 am

So, there are no reviews for Run Fatboy Run, No Country for Old Men and Juno. There will be at some point (most likely. I mean, does it really matter what I say about No Country For Old Men at this point?) and the reason why is because of my sisters wedding.

She's getting married this weekend which is very exciting and she asked me to do the table images for her reception. The theme is The Princess Bride and each table is represented by one character, which is fine but she has 15 tables! That's really a reach with the cast. Some unlucky group of people is going to be stuck at table "Rodents of Unusual Size". I did my best trying to make him look sad and cute (the movie versions are totally gnarly) but like it or not, that's a giant rat sitting on your table while you're trying to eat your chicken.

Anywho... I thought i'd share a couple of the images with you folks:

I love these.

I already replied to your LiveJournal post, but I totally think you should collect these with the movie parodies you did for yours and Yeo's wedding.

Also, tell us more about your family!

Peel back the layers, Joe. Peeeeeeeell...

well, at least the rodent doesn't look like a man in a costume
It just goes to show, never stick your dick in a pudding. It might still be good pudding and you can spend all afternoon explaining that but no one’s going to eat it BECAUSE YOU STUCK YOUR DICK IN IT. ~ Yahtzee

I know a few people that would love to have these. They're great. I can't wait to see what you did for Westley, Buttercup, and Fezzik.

When Phil ad i went to see I AM Legend I told him I would never do his table images. He then resolved to start writing one panel Matriculated strips featuring him and his friends and family in formal wear. Damn Chan....!

Joe, I don't know if it's too late for this, but I thought I'd help you out here. Not to say that there's anything wrong with ROUSs, but I just threw together the following list of 15 characters from memory (with some aid from IMDB). It may help you replace the ROUS with something more... appealing.

Westley
Buttercup
Prince Humperdink
Count Rugen
Inigo Montoya
Fezzik
Vezzini
Grandpa
Grandson
The Albino
The Priest
The Old Witch (The Ancient Booer according to IMDB)
The King and Queen
Miracle Max and Wife
The Captain of the Guard

And of course, you could always do two Westleys. You could do young Westley and the Dread Pirate Roberts.

Just trying to help out.

One panel strip. It's Halloween. Dan is dressed in a tuxedo. He's James Bond. A Chinese James Bond. With sideburns and a soulpatch. And glasses. No dialogue.

Oh, my sister actually made the list a while back that I had to stick to. Pretty close to what you put but with the Dread Pirate Roberts and ROUS'

Westley
Buttercup
Prince Humperdink
Count Rugen
Inigo Montoya
Fezzik
Vezzini
Grandpa
Grandson
The Albino
The Priest
The King
Miracle Max and Wife
The Dread Pirate Roberts
ROUS

Oh, I gotcha. Thought you settled on the ROUS because you were having trouble with the characters.

Well, I always liked the guy with the big old muttonchops. He blusters and bravoes, but when Fezzik asks him for the gate key... he gives it up no problem.

These are fantastic. The RoUS is so sad-looking that he's huggable. Even on fire.

It was good. Nice to see everybody. My family is insanely huge so I didn't get much time with people but I managed to make the rounds.
