I'm pretty heavy in the gaming scene, so lets see if I can't offer some opinions. In terms of games I've played, I have had a hard time matching the sheer awesome tension that Left 4 Dead has providing me. Few games have provided the level of immersion it has done for me. I often feel like I am actually in the zombie apocalypse.

I haven't really played any outright horrible games lately, but I make a point of avoiding games I wouldn't enjoy. My dad tried to get me to play Gears of War 2 with him a few weeks ago, but I really couldn't get into the first one, so I wouldn't really play the second one.

I've been currently replaying Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and confusing people online. "How the hell are you kicking so much ass with Deadpool?!" The funniest thing? Silver Surfer is so powerful, he's practically broken, but then you pair him with Deadpool of all people and he's hysterically powerful.

You can never go wrong with Guitar Hero, so I highly suggest Guitar Hero World Tour. It's like Rock Band, only better!

Is there a huge XBOXvsPS battle between the Rockband lovers and the guitar hero lovers? Is it the sort of thing where you have to pick and commit.?

Not that I'm aware of, but I'm not exactly a big fan of either. From what I've learned, knowledge of real instruments screws with your guitar heroing or rock banding.

Of the few new games I've played this year, Resident Evil 4 was the best. There's still another seven months, and in this time there'll be the Batman game, Bioshock 2, Prototype, InFamous, and a lot of stuff I'm not interested in.

Not if you have a PS2. For the other systems, the instruments aren't compatible with each-other; Guitar Hero doesn't use Rock Band controllers and vice-versa. So, unless you feel like throwing down like $600 bucks for both sets, you pretty much have to pick one or the other.

And Guitar Hero has better controllers, better music and better character customization as well as features that Rock Band doesn't have at all like instrument customization and a music creator.

Rock Band DOES have "Charlene" by Stephen and the Colberts, though.

Guitar Hero guitars work on Rock Band.

I've not used the drums. I just know that sometimes people bring their guitar hero guitar and it works on the rock band parties next door

IF they're using the PS2, they're completely compatible. If they're using a 360, I need to buy a damn copy of Rockband

The only new game from this year that I've played was MadWorld. And GodDAMN was it great.

Looking forward to Ghostbusters in June. The new Punch Out comes out soon, too. Then in the fall there's a new DS Zelda, the next Ace Attorney game, and the Ninja Turtles fighter. Brutal Legend is coming out down the road too.

...With all this, and Street Fighter IV and Resident Evil 5 out, 2009 looks like a pretty damn good year.
Why do my nostrils whisper to me?

I played SFIV briefly when it first came out, and was pretty happy with it. I don't have an Xbox, but my sister's bf does, and he left it at my house for about a week, and I spent a couple days playing around with it. I had managed to get Akuma unlocked before it was absconded, and it was a nice bit of nostalgia from SFII. I wish I could play it some more against some good human opponents, because the AI is either painfully easy, or impossible to compete with because it cheats.

Btw, if you own the game, or have played it enough, you know how broken Sagat is. That's a little lame, cuz he was my character of choice at first. I thought I was doing really well considering I was rusty, then I tried other characters and had to try a lot harder :/

Yeah, Sagat is just a beast in this game. Honestly, I think someone good with Ryu could own anyone but Sagat is sick.

Yeah, Sagat is in the top tier ranking... by himself! One has to feel there are some balancing issues when a character the is only one in the top tier. I'm a beast with Balrog, but anyone decent with Blanka seems to dominate me when I play him.

A good Blanka player is insanely difficult to beat. There are ways around them, I mean you can Tiger kick through his rolls, or hurricane kick through them but between that and his slides... I hate him so much.
