Wow I didn't know a shop would cause such controversy.

The thing is, if they end up fighting just one guy, the last fight is going to end up being that much worse. Someone'll supercharge something, someone'll throw something, possibly someone will sacrifice themself than Cap will win using patriotism and cheesy one liners. Or maybe Samuel L Jackson will do the one liner. But, generally, its hard to make like 4 guys fight one and have it look sensible. Option 2 is have somene run off and fight a subplot, like Black Widow in Iron Man 2. This might be a good time to rewatch The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, see what they did.

The problem with having the big bad be a team is they'd need introducing, backstories etc. Unless they were drawn from pre-established films. But then the good guys coming together would just be copying the bad guys. Unless they come together for a brief bit at the start to stop the Hulk, but I think the last thing to do would bedraw too much attention to the Hulk. I think Aliens is the way to go. Something from elsewhere attacking that they have to band together to fight, can see that working. Asgardian could work, and wouldnt be as unoriginal as aliens.

Caps costume: I like the costume, but I like to pretend thats just his WW2 costume. I'd be dissappointed if he led the Avengers with no headwings.

Headwings are stupid. I could even get by with Thor not having headwings provided he had a badass enough helmet.

Agreed. Let Cap have them painted on or something.

I actually thing that would look worse. And headwings don't look stupid in the comics, but then again little does, and they may be cheesy but we're talking about a character best described as 'flag man', and whilst I'd usually say fidelity is unimportant when adapting something I think Cap has so little going for him fidelity is crucial.

I think, in real life, headwings could look very silly. But I think its in the nature of a comic book movie to have to deal with stuff like this: yes, it'd be a challenge, but I'd like to hope they make a real effort before they decide they can't rise to it and rule them out.

I hate Ultimate Captain America, I think its because when you're used to seeing him with headwings without them he looks kind of....castrated.

I'm sure they tried it at one point or another. I do agree that Captain America without the ears looks a bit... dumb. It makes his head look really tiny too.
Part of me says "Just do it." They found a way to make the ears on the Batsuit work, they can do his wings. But maybe they're afraid people won't go to the movie because Captain America looks dorky enough as it is.

That's very true; bat ears could've come off as really goofy as well.

But I think this:

would look way more retarded if they tried this with live action.

But I'm not a Cap fan to begin with at all. I've never read a single one of his comics. So I have no attachment to the source material.
I for one really like the Ultimate-y look they've given him in those concept drawings.

If Nathan Fillion is cast as Pym, I will honestly and assuredly piss my pants with delight. DO IT YOU BASTARDS, DO IT.

Nathan Fillion as Pym: Get ready for a lot of references to his Giant Hammer... and by Hammer, I mean penis.

I love the idea. I thought they should leave his character out of the Avengers film, but Fillion would be perfect. If Gi-Ant man ends up in the film and somehow isn't played by Nathan Fillion, I'll spend the rest of my life disappointed.

Are you telling me that you think Matt Salinger looked retarted in the 1990 version of Captain America? Movie was so good they should just rerelease it and work it into the current...ok. Ok I'll stop now.

And Fillion as Pym? That will put my ass in the seat!

I have to admit, it is fairly bizarre how I've never noticed he'd be perfect for this before. The thing is, if this doesn't happen now, I'm not sure I could enjoy the film.

The whole Bucky thing for the Cap movie seems weak, I like the story, but Bucky was from a different time and Cap shouldn't have a 12 year old sidekick. I think to build into Bucky's involvement in the sequels he should be a traitor from the beginning and be the cause of Cap falling into the ocean at the end to build the distrust early for his return later. Or go Tyler Durden and have Bucky just be a figment of Cap's imagination as a side effect of the Super Soldier Serium.

In recent years Bucky has been retconned as being 15, and a boy who lied about his age in order to enlist in the army. Just saying.

I love Brubaker's Bucky and am very happy to have him in the film.

Has this been announced or is this just conjecture still? The stuff about Bucky, I mean.
