I did some schilling today.

Some dude came to the cinema today and we got into a chat, of sorts. He's a film student and his opening gambit was basically 'could you give me a review of everything? I just really like movies.'

In the end I scribbled down the URL of this site for him and told him to come here for all his movie reviews. If you're here, random dude, hi! I hope you enjoyed the Devil Wears Prada, and from now on I will be stalking you due to the tracking device I put in that slip of paper with the URL on it.

Well I've only been there a few days, but it's easy to spot the people who seem to be regulars. They've already got their tickets out to get ripped and they know exactly where to go, come right when the screen is ready to go in, sometimes stay for the credits, and are generally a lot friendlier.

You should pimp out the site at your cinema if you don't already. I'm sure a lot of people would like to know why you're so addicted to movies. :D

Maybe. If I ever do a JLCM caladar I'll definetly give one to every theater I go to so that they can hang it in the break room or something.

I need to hit the crowds too though. Back during Episode 2 or 3, Dj from Yirmumah printed up a bunch of Star Wars stickers and passed them out. He said it worked great.

Just print out a couple of posters with those tear-off tags on the bottom and stick them around town. That worked for us - just.

Yeah, I want to make some JLCM stickers and stick them up all over NY. I've been struggeling over the image though. I think it's just going to be me hugging a bunch of crappy DVD's with little hearts over us.

Haha, that would be a great sticker. You should make a small black and white flyer and asked if the Theaters would put them out somewhere. In the theater I go to here there is a rack with little flyers about what movies are coming out that month. You should just start tagging everything in NYC with the url.

I thought about putting xeroxes of the comics in all the DVD's I rent, but they probably check for that sort of thing...

I've thought of putting stickers up in the bathroom of the theaters, but they probably check for that sort of thing too. :)

Yeah, probably, but it might be up for a whole weekend before they have some scrapping it down. There is graffetti in the theater bathroom that has been there for years so maybe it will be there forever. You should try asking the managers of your local theaters if you could put up a flyer or something. Talk to the people at your local Blockbuster. They might be cool and let you display a little sign.

Man, if you want to send some mini-comics to me, I'd totally get them put in my local comic shop for ya! The Vault of Midnight is usually pretty good about offering stuff like that, if they have the room for it.

...and they recently moved into a HUGE store, so it might be worth checking out.

The Vault of Midnight? That is horrible, haha. I love comic shops with just the most ridiculous names. I wonder how many actual Android's Dungeons there are......

If you make up Stickers for the website I will tag the theaters around here for you, haha. I'll just sneak out and spray paint the URL on the outside of the theater.

Is that how "street Teams" work? I never really researched that concept much.

Street Teams are actually hired companies that have their own employees to push whatever you want. I was a part of a street team for Nextel a few years back, pushing their 2-way phones. They paid me $15 an hour, so I don't regret having done it.

Now that I'm on the planning end of advertising, I see that Street Teams (although expensive) are really benificial as they allow people to have hands-on experience and one-on-one conversations about whatever you're promoting.

You can also hire people to promote your stuff "undercover," so they're not wearing a uniform or anything, just talking up your product / service.
