Top Ten List suggestion...

Postby BenBeyond » Tue Jan 30, 2007 7:28 pm

Hi Everyone

As the radio saying goes: Long time listener, First time caller. I'm not sure if this is the right place to suggest this or if I am over stepping my boundaries, but I had to speak up.

I think a great Top Ten list would be: Top Ten Movies based on Saturday Night Live Characters!!

Coneheads and Wayne's World would definitely be on the list. I don't pertend to be a huge SNL fan, so does anyone have any other suggestions?

Hey Joe, What do you think of the idea?

Welcome to the boards Ben!

I dont know if I could come up with such a list (can only list like...4 maybe that i liked) but I am sure Joe is up the challenge. Wayne's World, Wayne's World 2, and Night at the Roxbury are the easy top 3 for me. Beyond that.....

The Ladies Man before Night at the Roxbury, and Blues Brothers before any of them.

And Blues Brothers 2000 before Night at the Roxbury, too - the story might not have been very good, but the music was absolutely terrific.

omg, I forgot about the Blues Brothers. I always forget about that being an SNL skit. Before my time, you know. But it has always been my favorite movie of all time, and in my opinion, mankind's crowning achievement. It is what we should be beaming out into outer space as the first thing Aliens should see from Earth.

Unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that was some drunk redneck's bunghole.

Well...hopefully they at least had Blues Brothers on in the background. The music is the best part.

Hmmmm, Movies based on Saturday Night Live Sketches.
Blues Brothers
Wayne's World
The Ladies Man
Office Space (based on the Milton cartoons)
Wayne's World 2
That's five that I respect

Coneheads
A Night at the Roxbury
It's Pat
Superstar
Stuart Saves his Family
Blues Brothers 2000
Movies that I don't really care about

Bob Roberts
Mr. Saturday Night
Movies that were apparently based on Saturday Night Live sketches, but I didn't know it.

Mr. Bill's Real Life Adventures
A Movie that I Didn't Know Existed

So, in the end, you could do a top 10 list, but it'd be filled, at least in part, with crap movies.

It's a cool idea but I'm with opie in saying that there might not be enough material for a full 10.

Was the last SNL movie spin off Superstar? they really need some more characters.

I know it is just an imperination, but I would love a movie based on Bill Hader's Vincent Price. Those sketches have been the best I have seen on the show since Farrell left.

I heard (and only heard, since we don't get SNL broadcast over here until it's over a year old) that there's some really talented new blood coming through in the Chevy Chase and Bill Murray vein.

Is that true ir just wishful thinking?

Top ten movies involving computer hacking

... I have a virus on my computer. SUPERAntiSpyware always worked on the laptop but for some reason I never put it on the processor.

If you guys are looking for a good free virus killer, get this thing, it's better than Norton (apparently not that hard) and doesn't charge you

Actually that list would have some good movies

Mostly just wishful thinking. Bill Hader and Andy Samberg are really good, but I not Murrey or Chase level. Least not yet. Rest of the cast....meh. Oh, Darrell Hammond is great too. But duh.

So do you think it's time to call mutiny on Lorne Michaels?

Meh, as long as it doesn't degrade down to Mad Tv quality, I'm happy. Needs more Vincent Price though....and cowbell.

EDIT: Jesus christ those little dancing grey smiles are incredible. I think i could watch them all day.

Top Ten Prison movies:
(*not in order yet*)
Shawshank Redemption (well, except that one)
The Rock
Green Mile
Longest Yard
Count of Monte Cristo

There is a nice list there but sadly I can't remember a lot, kinda preoccupied with White Castles
