But Pogues is wearing his sunglasses. I thought that they were off to arrest the guy in the Mikey Mouse shorts....

Those are obviously his daytime sunglasses. His formal nighttime glasses were the ones that were stolen. 8)

No, man. Those are his emergency back-up sunglasses. Can't you tell? Sure they possess the same basic functions as his primary set, but they lack some of the advanced features. Like the power... to move you.

My only complaint, though, is the artwork on The Kiss. I can't put my finger on it, but the art didn't work for me. I wish I had something more constructive to say about it, but if I can't explain why I think it's wrong then I can't offer a suggestion as to how to fix it.

Otherwise, and excellent offering, Kevin.

it did feel and look weird. like, there's this awkward tension between them, and they just go in for a kiss? that's not something they'd do if they weren't 100 percent comfortable, right?

According to Brandon's guest strip, I thought the sunglasses were protection for everyone from his amazing powers.

Haha. D quotes always equal victory, but Trevor did link to my comic....hard choice. Haha.

The dialogue in the strip today was badass. It was super natural. I can never write stuff like that. Whoever penned that deserves a pat on the back.

My only question is: Why am I with a cop?

Arc about the campus cop starts here.

As to why you're with him, other than a callback? No idea.

Your reality, sir, is lies and balderdash and I'm delighted to say that I have no grasp of it whatsoever.

Haha. I always did talk to the cops on campus when I saw them. Always good to know someone in the law just in case. But a Pogues never tells about his sex life, he is too class. But come on, redhead? score.

interesting twist. Leave it up to the girl. I've done that a couple times..... its a plan that is often fraught with failure.
I looked at him, and for a second.... I forgot to kill him.

Actually, I thought it was kind of a dick move. Which is something I really like about this comic. The characters don't have it all figured out. Janette isn't sure about this whole long-distance thing and making excuses (personal note: my girlfriend and I began as a long-distance thing and we're making it work. She'll be moving down here in January). Al, not sure of what to say, just moves all the responsibility over to Janette's side. It's not to say that I haven't done something like that, and from a guy's perspective, it seems so simple and practical. But from the girl's perspective, it's kind of a dick move.

I really hope this gets addressed in one of the later comics. Janette totally needs to call Al out on that shit.

Wow, while we were writing this one, I didn't even think of the fact that Al could be sounding dicky at all. After reading it again, yeah, I can see where you'd think that. I think it would depent on how it's said.

I guess the intention on my side of it was that he was trying not to pressure her into some kind of decision, just saying he's there. Al put himself out there a little bit and he made it clear that he wants her to call.

Kevin, I'm not complaining or criticizing.

Like I said, I've done this before. Putting it all on the girl like that. It's a typical guy move. It's very honest from a storytelling perspective. Of course, I think what pushes it over into that region for me is the parting line of "The ball's in your court."

Hmmm, perhaps it would be good to get a girl's perspective on how that went down. Maybe ask your wife to take a look at it. I could be completely off base.

But I still liked it because it's very human.
