i prefer they not be in character at all. they genuinely want to win, why do they have to be dicks about it? they say things like "i'm ought to hurt them" or "i love making them feel pain," but where is the sportsmanship in that? is that really the point? i'm not watching to see people sent home with injuries, i want to see who was gonna win it.

turbo was always a tough guy, and gemini freaked out on a dude when he disrespected him, but all in all it was a job and it was fun. lazer was a good role model, he wouldn't have reveled in hurting people.

speaking of bad role models, have i mentioned that a few of these dudes are fucking ignorant?

The gladiators, or the contenders?

Well, what do you expect from The Rock's stunt double and a dude who used to be in gay porn?

I think I was the most pumped up to see this but didn't make it 30 minutes into the premiere. It was just so....modernized and lame. It looked more like a staged reality show then the Gladiators that I remember.

I thought one of them was The Rock's cousin. And I'm scared to ask which one was in gay porn.

It's a lot easier to watch when you tape the show and then fast-forward through the talking-bits.

toa is the rock's cousin and stunt double. he's kind of cool too. and obviously titan belongs there as an accomplished bodybuilder and athlete.

wolf wouldn't bother me so much if he had a makeover, and was less eager to genuinely kill people. mayhem and justice speak with about a fourth grade vocabulary. hellga is a little off, too, if you know what i mean.

i just like that in the old days, the glads were clean cut and admirable, or so it seemed. this is sort of a family show, and these gladiators nowadays don't seem that american.

hopefully they will readjust the toen of the show as much and as often as they did in the first run.

I like Wolf. He just doesn't have to howl EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. someone talks to him.

Militia is the one that was in gay porn. I read it on Reality Blurred a few weeks ago and then it was on The Soup last week.

yeah i read about militia and it made it funny that he was chosen to wrestle the contenders one on one this week.

wolf is running out of eating/biting/hunting metaphors to use. monday night between contenders he said, "i missed my last meal. i never miss two in a row." hmm, just like a wolf never misses two meals in a row? you are trying too hard.

my local paper says that due to the success of gladiators, a kids version called gladiators 2000 is going into syndication. check out who the host was.
