I'm going to the California one this year, we found free room and board so it should be fun.

I didn't know they did one in NY
It just goes to show, never stick your dick in a pudding. It might still be good pudding and you can spend all afternoon explaining that but no one’s going to eat it BECAUSE YOU STUCK YOUR DICK IN IT. ~ Yahtzee

I'm really jealous about New York. I wanted to go, but logistically, I couldn't figure it out.

I really don't know what I'm doing with my convention schedule this year. I'm doing one here in Iowa because it's in my backyard. I'm going to Chicago, obviously - it's the biggest party of the year for me.

I'm planning on going to Minneapolis by myself - which should be okay because Zach Miller lives up there and I can hang out with him after the show.

I'm flirting with going to Kansas City, but I don't know any other creators attending. So I'm going to feel guilty being in Kansas City by myself while Cami is at home with Henry (it wouldn't work to bring them with).

I wanted to branch out and do some shows outside of my normal range and thought about doing SPACE in Ohio or The Motor City Con in Michigan - but again... I don't know anyone going to those shows and they're even FARTHER away than Kansas City. So how do I justify it? I don't even know if those are popular shows! And if I don't turn a profit, Cami would be pissed.

Does anyone have suggestions?

Dude, Motor City Comic Con is like 45 minutes from my place - I'd go if you were going. I can't say if you'll turn a profit there or not (it's a pretty popular event for the area, to be sure), but I always have a good time when I go.

Also, they have some good celebrities and artists. James O'Barr attends every year, since he lives less than an hour away. It's a good time.

The pimps are also confirmed for Pittsburgh Comic con at the end of April (25,26,27) if you live in the area this is a great show to check out. really good for fans and vendors for the size of show it is.

I wrote the Motor City Comic Con people and asked if they had attendance records for the last few years. They haven't written back.

It's a 12 hour drive from Des Moines to Pittsburgh. A lonely ride, to be sure.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to stay for the entirety of NYCC this year, but I might pop up for a while. Last year was such a blast and it's only a few hours away...I'd be an idiot to miss it. The only problem is that I'll be out of town for the two weeks preceding and there are childcare, dayjob, and comic concerns to deal with.

I'm working on a one-shot Weird Adventures print comic that may or may not be done by then (probably not), so I might beg for a little DP booth space if there's no Platinum or DrunkDuck presence.

If you're going, let me know Jon. I want to book my flight as soon as possible, and make sure I have a place to stay.

I'll be there, flight and hotel are already booked. Hopefully I'll have sample copies of issue one of The Right Way Wrong and samples from my next project Misspent Youth. Maybe even some Devil and Ted stuff :P

Actually I don't know if I've ever talked about Right Way Wrong... sample pages are over here.

Yeah Anna is an amazing artist, I was really lucky to get her. What's even cooler is she got this guy who is doing the back cover image for Madman #8 to collaborate on the cover for free :P

I think I am going to try and attend this year. An old college friend of mine lives in NYC so I would have a place to stay and he keeps asking me to visit him so I could kill two birds with one stone. My plan is to attend at least one day of the con and possibly hang out with you guys.
Brandon, what day you going to be there?

Also I might go to the Pittsburgh con for a day or so. I only live 4ish hours from there.

Alright, with so many people attending this thing I can't not go. I'm gonna be coming in on Thursday morning and stay until Sunday afternoon.

Anyone have recommendations for places to stay? I have a few hostels in mind, but nothing's set in stone yet so I can switch it up.
